The Lost Children of Tuam

The Lost Children of Tuam

Last week ‘The Lost Children of Tuam’ won the prestigious Best Irish Film award at the 38th Galway Film Fleadh, an international film festival held every year in July..

This powerful drama has been seven years in the making after Hollywood star Liam Neeson bought the rights in 2018. The film was shot on location in Tuam last fall.

The official synopsis reads: “In rural Ireland, amateur historian Catherine Corless begins researching a former institution for unmarried mothers and their children in Tuam, County Galway, and uncovers a shocking hidden history of neglect and loss. Faced with deafening silence of church and state, she embarks on a campaign for justice, confronting deep wounds that continue to shape Ireland today.”

More about the story and an exclusive film clip can be seen here.

We’ll be watching for release of the film in the U.S.
