Mapping Migration in the United States
One of Dick Eastman's blog readers tipped him off to a fascinating series of charts published last week in the New York Times.
Using census microdata, the charts show how Americans have moved between states since 1900. Even more interesting are the maps summarizing this data for years 1900, 1950, and 2012, found here: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/16/upshot/mapping-migration-in-the-united-states-since-1900.html?abt=0002&abg=1
Updated charts now show "where we came from and where we went, state by state."
In this case, a picture is worth a thousand words. Take a look!
