Saturday, August 17 - virtual webinar
Railroad Records and Railroad History: Methods for Tracking

Presented by Paula Stewart-Warren, CG, FMGS, FUGA

10:30 AM - Noon CST (UTC-6)

$15 for IGSI members with Discount Code; $20 for non-members

Choo choo! …the express to learning more about ancestors who worked on the railroad is just a week away from leaving on track IGSI. Let Paula Stuart-Warren help you know where to expand your research. No ancestors who worked in the rail industry? Did they use railroads to get to the destination in the Americas? You may also learn research methods from Paula that can help you with tips to find those ancestors who worked in related industries.

Can’t attend on August 17? Register anyway and get a free link to the recording and handout.

Paula is an international educator-researcher-consultant in genealogy with a focus on unusual resources, manuscripts, methodology, and analysis. Rail history is a special passion for her. She has been a regular instructor for prominent national Institutes (SLIG, GRIP) and presents for audiences of FGS and NGS across North America.

Thursday, September 5 – virtual Social gaggle

Come one, Come all – no need to be a member, or to register. Just drop in!
6:30 – 8:00 pm on Zoom

Sometimes the best tips and strategies come from a family historian sitting next to you! Perhaps another IGSI friend finally figured out how to do the thing you’re struggling with… or never thought of. Learn, share, and be inspired from each other! Bring your successes, challenges, questions, and interesting stories to our IGSI Social Gaggle!

We’ll start out with a short live demo using FamilySearch.org to make sure you are aware of some little-known but very helpful tree insights, as well as amazing recent AI tools that unlock millions of source documents in their collection that have not been indexed or transcribed. Following that segment, we’ll open the “floor” to share or query the “brain trust” in this session. Join our virtual coffee klatsch of genealogists. Feel free to share this event with your friends.

by not locating all the records that may be relevant to the research
