Goals for a new year

Goals for a new year

I generally avoid making resolutions for the new year because of the likelihood for failure. Maybe I'd have more success by focusing on a number of goals, like picking from a menu throughout the year. Here are some realistic goals for 2017:
  1. Organize what you have
  2. Interview your older relatives
  3. Computerize
  4. Visit a family history center or genealogy library
  5. Write out the "stories"
  6. Add your sources
  7. Review your research
  8. Clean up your database
  9. Print out your data
  10. Take the time to order documents
  11. Concentrate on one area
  12. Don't try to do everything
One or more of these goals may "speak to you" and nudge you toward making progress with your family history research.
