Certificates of Irish Heritage scrapped
I read the announcement several days ago. Gosh, the story made the second page of the Minneapolis Star Tribune: Not even Tom Cruise could save the Certificates of Irish Heritage. The Irish government has decided to give up on the certificates as a method of marketing to its diaspora.
So why was I so slow to post the news? I guess I was feeling sheepish because I jumped on the bandwagon back in 2011/2012. I purchased certificates for a niece and three nephews. I thought the handsome heritage certificates made great birthday gifts!
I may have been one of the biggest customers. I bought four of the 2925 total certificates that were sold.
Maybe I would have purchased an Edsel if I'd been a car-buyer back in 1957.
