The National Genealogical Society (NGS) has updated their guide to Research in Pennsylvania. Part of their series on Research in the States, the new edition is available for purchase online in either PDF or print versions. I have particular interest in Pennsylvania because that's where my only U.S. pre-19th-century ancestral line settled.

According to the NGS press release, "Many American families can trace their roots back to early Pennsylvania immigrants, including the Dutch, Swedes, Finns, Germans, Scots-Irish, Welsh and African-Americans as well as later immigrants from Asia and Slovak countries." In addition to Pennsylvania, other volumes in the NGS series include Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Research in New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County.
