Last spring one of my blog postings caught the attention of a well-known genealogist, Jim Warren, who it turns out is my husband's distant cousin through the Rowans of County Mayo. We've been unsuccessful (so far) in determining exactly how Jim's ancestor, James Rowan, is related to Bill's great-great-grandfather Michael Rowan. Nonetheless we keep in touch, and Jim's holiday letter prompted me to look again at his firm's website. Jim and his partner, Sharon Carmack, provide professional genealogy services as Warren, Carmack & Associates.

Among many resources on their website is an 'Irish Genealogy' tab, where you'll find tips for Irish research and a recommended Irish research reading list. Check it out: http://www.warrencarmack.com/irishgen/index.html.

Writing this reminds me about making genealogy resolutions for 2015. Read a book? Make a research trip? Take a class? It's not too late to set a goal or two that will help you make big progress with your family history research.
