A Facebook posting by the Ireland Family History community about the Registry of Deeds Project announces continued growth of the index. Who knows? Maybe your ancestor's name is among those listed? Since 2007 volunteers have been busy indexing records at the Registry of Deeds on Henrietta Street in Dublin. The total numbers are even greater than those recently cited on Facebook -- over 187,000 index records and over 21,600 memorials of deeds. The website is worth a look. Start with a names search at: http://irishdeedsindex.net/search/index.html. Because more records are being indexed all the time, you can easily limit future queries to new records by adding a date in the "Return only records added on or after" field. FamilySearch provides good background information about Ireland land and property records, including the Registry of Deeds, at: https://familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/Ireland_Land_and_Property.
