Publishing your family history
Last week I mailed out copies of "A Hickey-Quinn Family History" to members of our small extended family.
Inside its 85 pages are pedigree charts and family trees, articles I've written (published in prior issues of the Minnesota Genealogist and The Septs), lots of old photographs, and many snippets previously posted here at this blog.
I’m relieved and pleased with its reception. Even nephews’ wives are reading about ancestors of the families into which we’ve married.
The format isn’t fancy. 8 ½” X 11” paper with black-and-white pictures, duplex-copied and spiral-bound. All you need to publish something similar is word-processing software and a helpful printing company.
You won’t regret the time and effort you put into recording and sharing your research results.
