I don't recall ever doing any Irish family history research in Iowa. All branches of my husband's ancestors seemed to take other migration routes so as to avoid the Hawkeye state. Consequently I'd never encountered the 'Irish in Iowa' website, found at http://www.celticcousins.net/irishiniowa/index.htm.

Created by Cathy Joynt Labath between 2001 and 2007, the site contains many transcribed records of Irish immigrants in Iowa. The category at the top of the Search menu -- "Data by Counties in Ireland" -- is a huge collection of biographies and obituaries. Some of the other 'Irish in Iowa' resources may no longer be unique; with the passage of time, some may have found their way to Ancestry or FamilySearch or other sites. However, if you have any Irish connection in Iowa, you'll enjoy browsing Labath's impressive collection of historical items.
