The Irish government has announced the purchase of the Bonar Law collection--an extraordinary group of maps, seacharts and Irish prints--which it will make it available to the public through the University College Cork (UCC) library. 

Said to be "unrivalled in the holdings of any public institution," this collection consists of nearly 10,000 Irish maps and 9000 prints.

The digital content may be available in early 2024.
