Many organizations feature listings of "top" genealogical resources. Irish Genealogical Society International (IGSI) is always pleased to be included. The latest list we've seen is CrestLeaf's "Top 70 Resources for Finding Your Irish Ancestors," and there we are! Today's blog posting on the CrestLeaf site identifies favorites in the following categories:

• Irish Census Records
• Irish Vital Records
• Irish Wills
• Irish Church Records
• Irish Military Service Records
• Irish Immigration Records & Passenger Lists
• Irish Surname Search & Meanings
• Irish Newspaper Online Collections
• Irish Genealogy Library & Archive
• Irish Graveyards, Monuments &  Tombstones
• Irish Genealogical Societies & Associations (this is where IGSI was listed)
• Additional Irish Ancestry Resources

There's always value to looking at new genealogical resource listings. We should periodically make sure we aren't overlooking something useful. Check out Crestleaf's complete article and the resource links at http://crestleaf.com/blog/70-resources-finding-irish-ancestors/#more-1491. I did let them know we think IGSI should have also been included among the top Irish Genealogy Libraries and that we merit mention for our quarterly journal, The Septs. Nonetheless, we're happy to be among the top 70.
