A thousand pardons for overlooking and failing to share this resource earlier! The 2015 edition of Sean J. Murphy's A Primer in Irish Genealogy became available late last month. You can download it FREE, along with other e-publications by Murphy: http://homepage.eircom.net/~seanjmurphy/epubs/ Sean Murphy is a historian, genealogist, lecturer and author. He teaches genealogy/family history courses at University College Dublin's Adult Education program. The online booklet is based on his introductory lectures, which have been running since 1989, and is offered both as a text for students and a guide for those wishing to trace their Irish ancestors. According to Murphy's blog, the Primer includes lessons in research methods, computers and the Internet, placenames, personal names and surnames. Guidance is given on the use of a wide variety of sources. Also included is a case study on the author's Murphy ancestors of Ballylusky, County Kerry. Thanks to IGSI's Tom Rice for bringing this e-pub to our attention.
