In multiple waves of migrations, thousands of emigrants came to Australia from countries in Europe, as well as North and South America. Records for these people often start in their native countries and then seem to disappear. If family lore has them going to Australia, understanding when and why they came, their religions, settlement, and family patterns can help you come to know your ancestors better and guide your research. This session will give an overview of Australian records available, both online and in repositories, to help researchers find the stories of these people. It will also show how DNA results can help you discover more about your ancestors, as well as connect to your Australian cousins.
