IGSI's Life Savers Writing Group

Saving Lives, One Story At A Time

Don’t Let Them Be Forgotten! Write Their Stories.

Ever thought about breathing life into your family research by writing the stories of your ancestors? One of the fastest growing activities among family history researchers is that of writing their family history or writing their ancestors stories. Concerned that their research might be ignored, or worse, thrown away someday by family members who don’t understand it or appreciate it, many researchers are starting to put the family history into narrative form. A written story is usually more interesting to non-researchers than boxes of charts, documents and notes.  IGSI sponsors a writing group for people who what to write their personal or family stories. The group meets every three weeks at a coffee shop in St. Paul. No writing experience is necessary to join this group.

Linda Miller, former president of the Irish Genealogical Society International and a lifewriting instructor, facilitates this group. Contact Linda Miller for more information (952-831-8286 or lindamiller106@gmail.com)

Meetings are held at the second wednesday of the month from 12:45 to 3:00 PM.
