Irish Days

IGSI "Irish Days" at the Minnesota Genealogical Library

 

In the Minnesota area and need research help? IGSI volunteers (experienced Irish researchers) staff the Minnesota Genealogical Library / IGSI Library on the 2nd Saturday of most months from 10 am to 4 pm.

 

Irish Days for 2014:

Jan. 4, Feb. 8, March 8, April 12, May 10, June 14, July 12, Aug. 9, Sept. 13, Oct. 11, Nov. 8, and Dec. 13.

What is special about Irish Days?

Researchers work directly with you -

  • Orient you to the library and the Irish collection.
  • Direct you to information sources and work with you on your specific research needs, at your request.
  • Teach beginners the tools of Basic Irish Research.
  • Show you how to use major research tools, like
    • Griffith's Valuation (the major replacement for the lost Ireland censuses up to about 1864).
    • Irish Origins (a subscription site free in the library.
    • maps and other resource available

Note, the Minnesota Genealogical Library includes U.S., Minnesota, and other ethnic collections. All resourses are available whenever the Minnesota Genealogical Library / IGSI Library is open.
